Nominated. Our project, the new central laboratory at Klinik Favoriten, has made the longlist of the Archello Award 2026 in the category "Laboratory Building of the Year". We are delighted by this recognition. The finalists will be announced in November.

The South Nursing Ward Building at University Hospital Vienna (AKH) recently opened. Initially, certain functions will be temporarily relocated here from the main building to allow for necessary renovation work. The modern hybrid wood architecture sets new standards in sustainability and flexibility for future adaptations, thereby making a valuable contribution to the City of Vienna’s circular economy.

At this year’s Archiball, we achieved an incredible second place. In the final, we managed to come back from a 1–0 deficit and equalize through a well-deserved penalty. However, the players of Madame Architects ultimately secured the tournament with two late goals. Even though we narrowly missed out on first place, we are incredibly proud of finishing second – our best result at the Archiball so far. We are already looking forward to next year.

Together with our colleagues from Axis Ingenieurleistungen, RM Engineering and Bauwert, we had the pleasure of presenting the plaque and certificate of the klimaaktiv Silver Award for the laboratory at Klinik Favoriten to Laboratory Director Manuela Födinger, Christoph Wenisch, representing the Medical Director of Klinik Favoriten, and Michael Lischent, Managing Director of Projektentwicklungs- und Baumanagement GmbH.

For the new laboratory building “House 7” at the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin, we have reached another important milestone: the design planning phase and the project documentation (FPU) have been successfully submitted for review.

The project comprises a highly complex new laboratory building constructed using a timber-hybrid design, featuring flexible laboratory and research spaces while setting high standards in sustainability, resource efficiency, and technical adaptability. The approval and detailed design phases are scheduled to begin this summer.

On May 6, construction began on the new Central Building (ZNA) at Klinik Favoriten. The ZNA was designed on behalf of the Wiener Gesundheitsverbund in close coordination with the hospital’s clinical staff. The new building will become one of Vienna’s largest healthcare projects, designed to meet the medical requirements of the future.

Klinik Favoriten expands: Temporary facility “Pavilion G1” now in operation. A modern new building with a gross floor area of around 5,300 m² was constructed on behalf of the Vienna Health Association, housing a breast health center, digital radiology, an interventional vascular center, and administrative offices. We are pleased to announce that, as AHA partners of Architects Collective for the Freiburg Children’s and Youth Hospital, together with Albert Wimmer ZT, we have already received four architecture awards: the ICONIC AWARD 2025, “Best of Best” in the Healthcare Architecture category, presented by the German Design Council, as well as the Callwey Award Healing Architecture, which was held for the first time this year. Previously, we were honored with the BIG SEE Architecture Award 2025 and, in 2024, received the distinction “Highly Commended” as part of the European Healthcare Design Award. The children’s hospital was also recently awarded DGNB Platinum in the overall assessment.

The Healthy Urban Oasis: Live Talk and Student Award Ceremony: On 13 November 2025, Architects Collective invites you to the audacity architecture talks series at the Prechtl Hall, TU Vienna. The topic of the evening is: “The Healthy Urban Oasis – Visionary Infrastructures for Urban Healthcare”, starting at 6:00 PM.
Following the talk, at 8:00 PM, the Architects Collective Student Award for Healthcare Architecture 2025 will be presented for the second time, in cooperation with TU Vienna.

We have won—1st place for Austrian Healthcare Architects! Our cross-project healthcare architecture cooperation was commissioned to plan the new construction of Zentralklinik Ottakring.

With the restructuring and service expansion of the Favoriten Clinic, a central building for a new central emergency room, the departments of cardiology, internal medicine, neurology as well as pulmonology is to be built in place of the outdated pavilion structure. F+P Architekten are in charge as general planner.

In Linz, a compact children's center is being developed at the Kepler University Hospital, bringing together specialized medical care for children and adolescents in one location. Our competition design won 2nd place.
